The Technology

FaceShape AI uses face-api.js — a powerful JavaScript library built on top of TensorFlow.js — to run advanced facial landmark detection entirely in your browser. This means:

  • Your photo is processed locally on your device
  • No image data is ever transmitted to any server
  • Results are generated in under 2 seconds
  • Works offline after the first visit (models are cached)

The AI maps 68 precise facial landmark points, then calculates geometric ratios — face length vs. width, cheekbone width, jawline definition, and more — to accurately classify your face shape among the 6 primary types.
